EEK!

December 15, 2007

I really enjoy Lydia Joyce’s novels but when I went onto amazon and saw the cover for her next release, I seriously went “wtf?”

Shadows of the Night

And the award for most awkward cover goes to…

Not only does it look like two different covers uncomfortably mashed together, it also looks like a bad photoshop job.

I’m crossing my fingers in hope that it looks better in person. :/

There certainly is a lot going on on that cover. LOL.

    The mantitty strikes again.

I’m going to seriously ask my editor why Bantam didn’t give me a mantitty cover. Not that I wanted one. But since everyone but everyone keeps saying mantitty sells twice as much, I’m curious to know why went the girly mode instead?

I noticed that Sherry when I saw you’d added a photo of your next release on your blog.

RE: mantitty selling the best. I’m just speculating here, but I look at Avon as a semi-barometer of what’s selling well and how it’s selling. A lot of their covers from historicals released this year and TBR in the next have featured women on the covers in various parts, instead of the regular mantitty we’ve come to know and love, so maybe a woman on the cover is the next big thing in terms of historical romance covers.
